Basal Bark Treatments with the Strike Team!

  • Hemlock Conservation Office 9853 Nova Scotia Trunk 8 Caledonia, NS, B0T 1B0 Canada (map)

Join us for a treatment day in the woods! Meet the Strike Team at the Hemlock Conservation office, and we will provide transportation to the site. During this treatment day, we will be using basal bark spraying methods to treat hemlock trees. If the weather is expected to be rainy or windy, we will adjust our work plan and use stem injection methods to treat or tree mark an area to prepare a stand for treatment.

Please note that volunteers must have Hemlock Hero training to participate in treatment days. While we welcome everyone to join us, it's essential to understand that this type of work can be physically demanding and requires the use of pesticides. Prospective volunteers must be well-prepared and capable of navigating challenging terrain in a fast-paced environment.

Bring everything you need for a full day in the field, including water, lunch/snacks, and appropriate clothing/footwear. More information will be provided upon registration.

Location TBD!

Please contact Jessica Ihlen, the HWA Project Coordinator, for any further inquiries.
