The Medway Community Forest Co-operative’s Annual General Meeting is an opportunity to gather with community members, partners, and supporters to reflect on the past year, share updates on stewardship and programming, and look ahead to future priorities.
We’re pleased to welcome guest speaker Chris Googoo, Chief Operating Officer of Ulnooweg and Executive Director of the Ulnooweg Indigenous Communities Foundation, who will share insights on Ulnooweg’s programs and treaty rights as they relate to forestry, offering a valuable perspective on the future of Nova Scotia’s forests.
The evening will also include updates from staff, including:
🌲 HWA Treatment program
🌳 Implementing new techniques to execute ecological forestry operations
🌿 License area agreement negotiations
🐦⬛ Research program updates, including species at risk birds and tree marking

Guest Speaker Bios:
Chris Googoo is Chief Operating Officer of Ulnooweg and Executive Director of the Ulnooweg Indigenous Communities Foundation, where he has served in senior leadership roles for more than two decades. A proud member of We’koqma’q First Nation, Chris has dedicated his career to advancing the success of Indigenous entrepreneurs, businesses, and communities across Atlantic Canada while strengthening relationships between Indigenous communities, philanthropy, and the social finance sector. He is a founding member and current co-chair of the Indigenous Peoples Resilience Fund and serves on Nova Scotia’s Research Council and the Investment Committee of Boann Capital, contributing Indigenous perspectives to national conversations on community wealth, innovation, and opportunity.
